OUR CORE VALUES

Charity · Justice · Brotherly Love · Fidelity

CHEMPI — THE PURPLE PIG

Founded in 1950 by the California-Hawaii Elks Association, CHEMPI (California-Hawaii Elks Major Project, Inc.) was created to support children with disabilities.

The organization:

  • Provides funding for critical therapies and treatments

  • Supports families when other organizations cannot

  • Offers professional services such as therapy and preschool vision screening

  • Reaches children even in remote areas

Early screenings help detect conditions like amblyopia (“lazy eye”), allowing early treatment and preventing long-term vision loss.

All donations to CHEMPI are tax-deductible.

2024 THEME CHILD — RUDY

Rudy – Ridgecrest, California

Rudy was born prematurely at 26 weeks and faced serious medical challenges, including respiratory failure and extended NICU care.

Through the support of the Elks and CHEMPI:

  • He received specialized feeding therapy

  • Overcame major developmental obstacles

  • Progressed to eating solid foods despite complications from Down syndrome

Rudy’s family credits the Elks’ support as essential to his growth and future, giving him the opportunity to live a fuller, more active life.

SUPPORTING OUR VETERANS

Never Forgotten

The Elks are deeply committed to serving veterans and active military members.

Our efforts include:

  • Volunteering thousands of hours annually

  • Providing direct support across 330+ facilities

  • Funding rehabilitation and adaptive programs

  • Supporting homeless veterans through outreach initiatives

We ensure those who served our country receive the care, dignity, and respect they deserve.

Our Mission

To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship.
